The ideal candidate will support dentists during procedures, manage patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinical activities. This role offers an opportunity to grow with a brand new locally owned and operated dental practice, while utilizing advanced dental technology and maintaining high standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Experience with EMR systems such as OpenDental, Dentrix, or Curve is preferred, along with a strong understanding of dental terminology and anatomy. The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care, supporting clinical procedures, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontics, prosthodontics, cosmetic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology. Record vital signs and medical history updates in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards. Provide chair side assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with billing or coding as needed. Ensure the clinic environment adheres to safety standards including proper infection control procedures. Experience Previous experience is not required, but preferred. Preferred candidates bilingual in English and Spanish Proficiency with dental software systems. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Experience with dental X-ray procedures, medical imaging tools/scanners, and infection control practices is required. Certification in radiography or X-ray certification is preferred but not mandatory for all roles. Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care is essential for success in this role.
