From assisting with patient care to managing front desk operations, you'll be at the heart of delivering exceptional dental services. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and handle appointment scheduling using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Meditech. Assist dentists during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and providing chairside support with dental terminology and clinical protocols. Manage patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and updating records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Handle medical billing and coding tasks using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to ensure accurate documentation and reimbursement. Perform insurance verification, claims submission, and follow-up using systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks to optimize revenue cycles. Maintain organized medical records and ensure documentation review for accuracy and completeness. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, schedule appointments efficiently, and manage front desk duties such as filing, data entry, and patient correspondence. Support medical administrative functions including office management, filing, and maintaining health information management standards. Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines by safeguarding patient information during all administrative processes. Experience Proven clinic experience in a dental or medical office environment with familiarity in dental terminology and medical billing procedures. Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, or similar platforms like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks. Strong knowledge of medical coding includingCPT, ICD-9/10
coding systems for accurate documentation review and billing. Demonstrated ability to perform insurance verification, claims processing, and collections efficiently. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in bilingual settings preferred; experience working with diverse patient populations is a plus. Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), 10 key typing, and familiarity with health information management software like Hospital or Clinic Management Systems. Prior experience in front desk operations such as appointment scheduling, phone handling with multi-line systems, and office management tasks required. Knowledge of dental terminology combined with clinic experience enhances your ability to support both clinical staff and patients effectively. Ability to handle administrative responsibilities independently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure; previous hospital or healthcare setting experience is advantageous.
