Job Description

Preston Creek Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a small private oral surgery practice seeking to add a positive and enthusiastic Registered Dental Assistant who can demonstrate excellent patient care, efficient time management skills, be a team-player and show great initiative. Hours that are typically required to work: Monday
  • Thursday 7:00 am
  • 4:00 pm Friday 7:00 am
  • 1:00 pm

Responsibilities:
  • Assists the doctor during surgical procedures, consultations & post-surgery follow
  • up appointments
  • Maintain steady patient flow and movement for the day
  • Assist in educating the patients and address their questions and/or concerns to help them feel more comfortable
  • Take diagnostic x-rays and cone beam CT scans
  • Review consent forms and preoperative instructions, ensures all consent forms are completed and added to patient charts prior to their procedure
  • Review patient charts prior to doctor arrival, document appropriate patient information and health history during the exam and treatment
  • Prepare and turn over surgical rooms for corresponding treatment
  • Monitor patients for safety during recovery after administration of anesthetics/sedatives
  • Accurately record patient treatment & notes information in OMS Vision, verify all notes are fully completed before leaving for the day
  • Explain post-op care to patients and their escorts
  • Sterilize and set up instrument trays
  • Coordinate with co-assistants with setting up exam and surgical notes each day
  • Other as needed tasks assigned by the Office Manager or Lead Surgical Assistant, including answering calls, filing charts, checking and ordering supplies
  • Comply with the State of Texas health care laws, regulations and organizational guidelines
Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver's License with dependable mode of transportation
  • R.D.A
  • Registered Dental Assistant License:
    Valid & Current
  • A minimum of 2 years in Dental Assisting
  • Oral Surgery assisting is a plus!
  • BLS•
Basic Life Support Certification:
Valid & Current
  • Hepatitis B vaccination
  • Previous experience in a dental office. (Oral Surgery experience is a huge plus!) When applying please include the following:
