In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Your proactive approach will help deliver exceptional dental experiences, foster patient trust, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. Whether assisting with general dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics, your contribution will be instrumental in creating healthy smiles every day. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique is maintained at all times. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while adhering to HIPAA regulations for data privacy. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments. Provide excellent dental reception services by scheduling appointments, confirming patient details, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, disposing of biohazard waste properly, and ensuring the clinic meets OSHA standards. Support the dental team with administrative tasks including medical documentation, coding procedures for insurance claims, and updating medical records accurately. Assist with specialized procedures in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics as needed, utilizing knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred; experience with Epic is a plus. Hands-on experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow efficiency. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding practices, and HIPAA compliance to ensure accurate documentation and confidentiality. Experience working with pediatric patients or in pediatric dentistry settings is advantageous; familiarity with endodontics or prosthodontics procedures is beneficial. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team—including dental receptionists—and provide outstanding patient care. Join us in making a difference through compassionate care and technical excellence!
