The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and supporting the overall operations of the dental clinic. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed. Record patient medical history and vital signs accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix. Provide chairside assistance during various dental treatments including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage dental clinic operations including scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and handling medical documentation. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems; familiarity with Dentrix. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.
