In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside support, ensure smooth clinic operations, and deliver outstanding patient care. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional setting dedicated to improving oral health. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic medical records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining accurate and detailed medical documentation. Perform chairside assisting tasks including taking vital signs, medical history updates, and explaining procedures to patients. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment. Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and answering inquiries professionally. Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times. Support the team with administrative duties related to medical coding, billing, and managing medical records for accurate insurance processing. Experience Minimum of two years of proven experience as a dental assistant in a busy clinical setting. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental procedures across multiple specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry. Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records efficiently. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes within a dental clinic environment. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines. Experience supporting four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during procedures. Knowledge of medical documentation practices including medical terminology, coding, and record management aligned with HIPAA compliance. Proficiency in using medical imaging equipment and understanding the basics of anatomy relevant to dental care delivery. Excellent communication skills suitable for interacting with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, ensuring they feel comfortable throughout their visit.
