In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to positive patient experiences and the overall success of our practice. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics by handing instruments and maintaining a clear field. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as digital X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like OpenDental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Perform chairside assisting by monitoring vital signs, applying aseptic techniques, and providing support during complex procedures such as root canals or crown placements. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions related to dental terminology and procedures. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team to optimize patient flow. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Proficiency in OpenDental software for managing medical records and documentation. Familiarity with infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization methods to maintain a safe clinical environment. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with chairside assisting in pediatric dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics is preferred. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists while providing compassionate patient care.
