Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists and hygienists by providing chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics with precision and care. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly following infection control protocols. Take high-quality X-rays and operate advanced medical imaging devices such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Support patient comfort by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and assisting with anesthesia or sedation as needed. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques to prevent infection and promote safety. Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency during procedures. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes; experience with Epic or similar systems is a plus. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards for patient confidentiality. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques and experience working with children is highly desirable. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; certification in CPR or BLS is also advantageous.
