Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team in a private practice. This role combines front desk administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring a seamless patient experience from appointment scheduling to post-treatment care. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional patient service while maintaining efficient office operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a busy dental practice dedicated to excellence and patient satisfaction. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and handle insurance verification processes using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, and Eaglesoft. Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing dental office management software and coordinate patient flow throughout the day. Assist dentists during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and managing dental supplies. Collect payments, process medical billing and coding Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately. Maintain organized filing of dental records, medical documentation review, and ensure all documentation aligns with health information management standards. Perform administrative tasks such as data entry with 10 key typing skills, document review for accuracy, and general clerical support to keep the front desk running smoothly Skills Proven experience in dental office environments or clinics with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding practices including ICD coding. Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication purposes Knowledge of dental terminology along with clinic experience that supports smooth front desk operations and clinical assistance. Ability to perform detailed documentation review while maintaining accuracy in medical records management.
