Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as an Endodontic Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and comfort during complex root canal procedures. This vital role combines technical proficiency with compassionate patient interaction, ensuring each individual receives top-tier treatment in a welcoming environment. As an Endodontic Dental Assistant, you will support our endodontists by preparing treatment areas, managing dental records, and maintaining strict infection control standards—all while fostering a positive and efficient clinical atmosphere. Your dedication will help us deliver exceptional dental care that transforms smiles and improves lives. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment for endodontic procedures. Assist the endodontist during root canal treatments by providing chairside support, managing dental instruments, and ensuring patient comfort. Operate and maintain dental imaging equipment, including X-ray machines and 3D scanners, to capture accurate diagnostic images while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to document procedures accurately and securely. Ensure strict infection control protocols are followed through aseptic technique and proper sterilization of tools and surfaces. Take vital signs and monitor patient health before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and procedure expectations to promote understanding and compliance. Collaborate with the dental team to facilitate four-handed dentistry techniques for increased efficiency. Maintain detailed medical documentation and coding for insurance purposes while respecting patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Support the administrative side of the clinic by assisting with dental receptionist duties when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of endodontic procedures preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy related to endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry concepts. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and accurately. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration within pediatric dentistry or other specialties when applicable. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology required; additional certifications in medical coding or pediatrics are a plus. Ability to handle medical documentation with precision while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA standards. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
