Job Description

Overview Join a dynamic private dental practice as a Dental Assistant working four days a week! This energetic role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a friendly, professional environment. You will support the dental team by assisting with chairside procedures, managing patient comfort, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop X-ray images and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support front desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling medical documentation with precision. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient well-being before procedures to ensure safety. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to assist effectively during procedures and communicate clearly with patients. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a private practice or clinical setting with familiarity in dental assisting techniques. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care. Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while adhering to safety standards; experience with medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners is advantageous. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist; capable of managing patient interactions professionally and empathetically. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and pediatric-specific procedures is preferred. Certification in chairside assisting; CPR certification is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care.
