Dental Assistant 200 Gilkey Road, Burlington, WA 98233 $25.87 - $31.15 an hour - Full-time $25.87 - $31.15 an hour - Full-time Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic and fast-paced position, you will support dentists during a variety of procedures, ensure the smooth operation of the dental clinic, and provide compassionate assistance to patients of all ages. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained at all times Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as X-ray imaging, dental restorations, prosthodontics, and endodontic treatments Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding Support patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, providing excellent customer service and explaining treatment plans clearly Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being Maintain infection control standards by following strict protocols for sterilization, handling medical imaging equipment, and maintaining a clean clinical environment Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or similar platforms is a plus Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while following safety guidelines for radiation exposure Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, and dentists Certification or training in dental assisting preferred; must be committed to ongoing professional development in areas like medical coding or advanced imaging techniques Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference every day!
