Job Description
Overview Experienced/New grad Expanded Functions Dental Assistant needed for busy, energetic, well established practice in Crown Hill! Oryx experience a plus but not required. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, scaling & pediatric treatments with precision and confidence. Perform chairside assisting tasks such as preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and managing patient comfort throughout procedures. Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper documentation. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) ensure accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Apply aseptic techniques and infection control standards rigorously to maintain a safe clinical environment. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing medical records efficiently. Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate clear communication within the team. Collaborate seamlessly in a four-handed dentistry setup to optimize workflow and patient experience. Skills Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Experience with dental radiography techniques including X-ray procedures and digital imaging. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and procedures tailored for children's oral health needs. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding processes relevant to dental care. Skilled in infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and maintaining a sterile environment during procedures. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with patients, team members, and external providers. Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks efficiently.
