  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygiene Assistant to support our dental team in providing exceptional patient care.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. As a Dental Hygiene Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting with patient preparation, chairside support, and maintaining a safe and organized dental practice. Duties Assist dental hygienists during patient examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functional and ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and adherence to infection control protocols. Record patient information accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) in Dentrix. Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic technique, proper sterilization procedures, and knowledge of anatomy to assist with various treatments including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dental terminology, and post-treatment care instructions to enhance patient experience. Requirements Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics is highly desirable. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix for dental records management. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines with precision. Strong understanding of infection control protocols. Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Basic knowledge of dental terminology, dental coding, and documentation practices. Certification or training in chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, or dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
