Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced dental environment. Your expertise will support various dental procedures, maintain infection control standards, and enhance patient comfort. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative setting where your skills in dental assisting and patient communication will make a meaningful difference. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, ensuring proper instrument handling and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients when necessary Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes. Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Qualifications Current certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with valid licensure in the respective state or region. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Proficiency in taking X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology; knowledge of medical imaging best practices is preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures across general dentistry disciplines such as prosthodontics and endodontics. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during four-handed dentistry practices while maintaining high standards of patient care. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy; experience with medical coding is a plus. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pediatric patients, parents, team members, and other healthcare professionals.
