Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients seeking exceptional oral healthcare. In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality treatments, ensure smooth clinic operations, and promote patient comfort and safety. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to a positive patient experience and the overall success of our practice. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments. Prepare and organize instruments, equipment, and materials needed for patient procedures. Ensure treatment rooms are properly set up and cleaned before and after each patient. Anticipate the dentist's needs during procedures to maintain efficient workflow. Prepare patients for treatment and ensure comfort during procedures. Provide post-treatment instructions to patients as directed by the dentist. Follow all sterilization and infection control protocols. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to clinic standards. Take dental X-rays when authorized and following proper safety procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and assist with clinical charting. Monitor dental supplies and notify management when inventory is low. Assist with organizing and maintaining clinical inventory. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental terminology, infection control practices, and anatomy knowledge. Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices and experience supporting pediatric patients is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and specialists in prosthodontics or endodontics. Compliance & Safety Follow all clinic policies and procedures and maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and applicable state dental regulations. Ensure patient confidentiality and proper handling of all patient records. Professional Conduct Dental Assistants are expected to demonstrate professionalism, reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail. Maintaining a respectful environment and supporting both patients and team members is essential to clinic success.
