$18-$24/hr 1-2 Years Experience About the Role We are looking for a warm, energetic, and skilled Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing practice on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be an essential part of our care team — helping children feel comfortable, safe, and excited about their dental visits. Pay is reviewed after a 90-day probationary period with opportunity for increase based on performance. Schedule & Hours This is a part-time position. Typical hours are [X] days per week, [X] hours per day. Occasional Saturday availability may be required. Key Responsibilities Clinical Support Assist the dentist chairside during exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and other pediatric procedures Prepare and sterilize instruments, operatories, and materials per OSHA and infection control standards Take and process digital dental X-rays as directed Apply topical fluoride, sealants, and preventive treatments under dentist supervision Complete dental prophylaxis for patients, including scaling, polishing, and preventive care Assist with comprehensive orthodontic check-ups, including bracketing, changing wires, and digital scanning with iTero Maintain accurate patient records in the practice management software Patient & Family Care Warmly welcome children and caregivers and escort them to treatment areas Use age-appropriate behavior guidance techniques (tell-show-do, positive reinforcement) to ease anxiety Educate patients and caregivers on proper oral hygiene practices Support patients during nitrous oxide sedation or other comfort measures Administrative & Team Support Help manage instrument inventory and supply ordering Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment Collaborate with front desk staff to support smooth patient flow Participate in team meetings and training sessions Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of dental assisting experience (pediatric experience strongly preferred) Current CPR/BLS certification Dental radiography certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Proficiency with dental practice management software (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar) Genuine love for working with children; patient, calm, and nurturing demeanor Preferred Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential Experience with orthodontics Experience with pediatric dental hygiene Experience with dental operative Experience with patients with special needs Bilingual (English/Spanish) How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter to [hiring email or application link].
