Job Description
Job Overview Join our new dental office team located in Oconomowoc! We are looking for a full tim dental assistant M-F (half day Fri) who is as excited as we are for our ground up family dental practice! Check us out at 262familydental.com to see our progress. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting while making a positive impact on community health. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, crown and bridge, implants, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) dentrix ascend; document treatment details accurately and efficiently. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow and patient comfort. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical documentation when necessary, especially for pediatric or medically compromised patients. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical records with precision. Requirements Preferred dental assisting experience. -An awesome bonus would be experience with CEREC same day crown technology Or a strong desire to want to learn. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques. Proficiency with EMR systems similar to Dentrix ascend; Certification or training in X-ray procedures, dental coding, and HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality and regulatory adherence. Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices, including working with children and applying specialized infection control measures. Knowledge of dental assisting procedures such as taking vital signs, operating 3D scanners, and supporting various specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team—including dental receptionists—and provide outstanding patient care. Ability to maintain high standards of infection control and aseptic technique while supporting the overall hygiene of the clinic environment.
