Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment. Assist dentists during various procedures such as general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments and managing dental materials. Take and develop dental X-rays, including advanced imaging like 3D scans, while ensuring patient safety through proper use of X-ray equipment. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding compliant with HIPAA regulations. Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care and coordinate with the dental team for treatment planning. Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to communicate effectively with team members and patients. Uphold strict infection control standards and adhere to all OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe clinical environment for staff and patients. Assist with specialized procedures in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics as needed, demonstrating versatility across various dental disciplines. Qualifications New graduates are welcome to apply. Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is recommended. .familiarity with general dentistry practices is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes. Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently during diverse dental procedures while maintaining patient comfort. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Experience taking X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans; familiarity with medical imaging equipment is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within the team and provide outstanding patient care. Certification in CPR or BLS (Basic Life Support) is desirable; ongoing professional development in pediatric dentistry or endodontics is encouraged.
