Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Office Assistant to join our vibrant dental practice. In this role, you will be the friendly face and efficient organizer that works with the rest of the staff to keep our office running smoothly. Your primary focus will be on ensuring exceptional patient service, managing basic administrative tasks, and supporting clinical operations. The ideal candidate is considerate, proactive, and passionate about delivering top-tier healthcare support. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring a welcoming environment. Navigate the basic functions of our dental practice management software (Dentrix) while coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily operations. Manage, update, and correct patient information and records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with managing office supply inventory. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally with excellent phone etiquette; handle patient inquiries efficiently and courteously when able and direct the call to the correct staff member when not. Scan and save patient documents appropriately and accurately to maintain organized filing of patient records and ensure all documentation aligns with health information management standards. Perform administrative duties such as data entry, typing reports, and managing office correspondence using Microsoft Office tools and email. Facilitate intake procedures for new patients. Occasionally, you may be asked to also support clinical staff by performing tasks such as preparing treatment rooms, escorting patients, and sterilizing equipment. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental office with knowledge of dental terminology is helpful. Familiarity with dental practice management software (Dentrix) is helpful. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management practices to ensure confidentiality and compliance. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, email, and internet. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor. Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable. Pay:
$10.00 - $15.00 per hour
