N/A Additional Details about the position Provide oral hygiene instruction to patients. Develop, with the Dental Director, programs to disseminate information on preventive dentistry and oral hygiene. Provide fluoride treatments for patients. Expose, process and mount radiographs on request of the dentist. Evaluate patients with periodontal disease by use of diagnostic skills, periodontal probe, and periodontal evaluation forms. Ensure proper sterilization of all instruments used for scaling and prophylaxes. Develop and implement programs to promote fluoride, i.e., fluoride tablet program, community water fluoridation. Aid the Dentist in development and implementation of periodontal treatment plans for clinic patients. Keep current with new techniques and philosophy related to preventive dentistry and periodontics. Actively attend general and dental staff meetings. Perform expanded duties to the extent the law permits.
