In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education. Your expertise will help ensure our patients maintain optimal oral health while enjoying a positive and comfortable experience. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and evaluating oral health status. Take X-rays while ensuring proper infection control and aseptic techniques. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical records like Dentrix Ascends, ensuring compliance with HIPPA. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, supporting medical coding processes for billing purposes. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings; prior dental office experience is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with dental terminology and medical terminology is essential. Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental assisting procedures. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
