In this energized role, you will work alongside dentists and dental assistants to provide comprehensive hygiene services, educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and applying topical anesthetics. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring patient safety during all procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to support general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry cases when applicable. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient documentation review and record keeping. Hands-on experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children is a plus. Ability to perform medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate billing and record management. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient needs. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical records management to support comprehensive patient assessment.
