Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team in Redwood City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental assessments, and contributing to a successful team. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively with patients, particularly in general and cosmetic dentistry. We allot 1 hour for prophy and perio maintenance appointments and 1 hour per quad of SRP. Each hour with patients may include probing, periodontal treatment, radiographs, and an exam with the Doctor. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings in electronic medical records systems. Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Assist with sterilization of instruments. Communicate necessary dental treatment with the doctor and to the front desk Take and interpret medical imaging as needed for patient evaluations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations. Strong knowledge of General dentistry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control measures. Experience assessing patients for restorative treatment needs Digital X-ray license Warm, positive and enthusiastic personality! Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, but we welcome motivated candidates who bring a positive attitude and a strong commitment to exceptional patient care to apply. Experience with Open Dental software preferred. Understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures is beneficial.
