In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting the overall health and well-being of our patients. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct initial patient assessments by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate medical records by documenting treatment details, patient histories, and clinical notes in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing specialized care tailored to children's needs within a friendly setting. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while ensuring proper safety measures are followed. Collaborate with the dental team on patient assessments, treatment planning, and documentation review to optimize care delivery. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, record keeping, and documentation management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience in chairside assisting with general dentistry procedures across diverse patient populations including pediatrics. Ability to accurately measure vital signs and interpret basic medical information relevant to dental care. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical coding, and medical records management for comprehensive documentation review. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric dentistry when needed. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of all patient information. Effective communication skills for explaining procedures clearly and providing excellent patient education. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment practicing infection control standards rigorously.
