In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing professional dental hygiene services, supporting overall oral health, and assisting in creating a welcoming, comfortable environment for our patients. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control will help ensure our practice maintains the highest standards of quality and safety. This position offers flexible hours and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives while working alongside a passionate team committed to excellence. Responsibilities Provide thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs Assist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort for both the patient and the dentist Operate dental equipment such as medical imaging devices, digital radiography systems, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Maintain strict infection control protocols through aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and adherence to OSHA standards Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure proper medical coding for billing purposes Monitor patient vital signs before procedures and provide chairside assistance with dental terminology understanding to support smooth workflow Experience Prior experience working as a dental hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting is preferred Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is a plus Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable Strong understanding of infection control protocols, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe practice Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly using appropriate medical terminology Experience in general dentistry environments with exposure to dental assisting duties including chairside support is advantageous Certification as a registered dental hygienist in accordance with state licensing requirements is mandatory Join us to be part of a dynamic team that values your skills and passion for promoting oral health!
