Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventative care measures. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and reinforce the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure patient safety. Support general dentistry operations by assisting with medical imaging, documentation review, and dental terminology clarification. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Proven experience in dental office environments, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently to enhance patient comfort and practice productivity. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric dentistry or diverse patient populations.
