Job Description

Overview Wonderful patient-centered practice is interested in a top performing professional with excellent communication skills, for a Registered Dental Hygienist position. If you are friendly, detailed and believe in caring for patients in a way that exceeds their expectations, consider our practice as an excellent opportunity. You will enjoy coming to work with a great team and kind patients in our Santa Cruz GP practice. We are looking for someone to cover a 6hr shift 2-3 Fridays a month. As a vital member of our dental practice, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, maintaining a clean and efficient work environment, and working closely with our dentists. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to advance their career in a supportive and rewarding setting. Responsibilities
  • Perform routine dental hygiene procedures, including scaling, polishing, cleaning and administering anesthesia.
  • Take radiographs to prevent oral health issues, educating patients of their oral condition, and proper home care routines.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to identify potential health risks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical and dental records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Implement infection control measures and follow aseptic technique to prevent the spread of disease.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in dental technology and techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with our dental team, including dentists, assistants, and other hygienists, to provide seamless patient care.
  • Provide patient education and oral health advice to promote healthy habits and prevent oral health issues.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude, providing exceptional customer service to all patients. Requirements
  • A current license to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the state of California.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in dental hygiene from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a dental hygiene program and a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding.
  • Familiarity with four-handed dentistry and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and dental office management systems.
  • Excellent patient assessment and communication skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized dental office environment.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and protocols.
  • A positive and professional attitude, with a strong focus on patient care and satisfaction.
Pay:
From $68.00 per hour
