As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital part in promoting oral health, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring our patients have a positive experience. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health. Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to monitor patient health status. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Review medical history and documentation to ensure accurate patient records and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Use dental terminology accurately when documenting treatment plans and patient interactions in electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Conduct initial patient assessments, including medical imaging and vital signs, to support diagnosis and treatment planning. Qualifications Valid dental hygiene license in accordance with state regulations. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and pediatric patient care is a plus. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental health topics including general dentistry procedures. Prior experience working in dental clinics or offices is highly desirable; familiarity with HIPAA compliance is essential. Join us in creating healthier smiles!
