at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, Delaware, United States Job Description Job Details ChristianaCare Hospital Dentistry Clinic is looking for a Dental Hygienist. ChristianaCare Hospital Dentistry Clinic is located at 501 West 14th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. For more than 60 years, the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Hospital Dentistry has provided highquality, lowcost dental care to uninsured and underinsured members of the community. Services are delivered by dental residents who have completed dental school and are pursuing an additional year of hospital-based training. Care is closely supervised by dedicated volunteer community dentists and experienced faculty members. Dentistry Services | ChristianaCare Clinical services offered include: Comprehensive restorative dentistry (fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, partials) All phases of implant treatment Endodontic services, including root canal and gum therapies Pediatric dentistry The Dental Hygienist is a licensed oral health professional who works collaboratively with dentists to deliver preventive care and promote longterm oral health. In this role, the Dental Hygienist provides comprehensive dental cleanings, including the removal of plaque and tartar above and below the gumline, and performs preliminary examinations to identify conditions such as gingivitis, periodontal disease, and other oral health concerns. The Dental Hygienist educates patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and overall oralhygiene practices to support disease prevention. The Dental Hygienist also takes and develops dental Xrays to support diagnostic decisionmaking and applies preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants to help reduce the risk of cavities. Through a combination of clinical expertise, patient education, and preventive services, the Dental Hygienist plays a key role in improving patient outcomes and supporting overall oral wellness.

Education Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene Program Current Delaware Dental Hygiene License Current CPR certification What Makes a Successful Dental Hygienist at ChristianaCare A successful Dental Hygienist at ChristianaCare demonstrates exceptional oral and written communication skills and a strong commitment to serving underresourced patient populations. Requires excellent interpersonal abilities, particularly when supporting patients who may be experiencing stress, and a dedication to public health and community wellness. Possesses a solid understanding of dental instruments, materials, equipment, and radiologic procedures, along with thorough knowledge of sterilization, disinfecting techniques, and universal precautions. Strong manual dexterity, the ability to provide clear oralhealth instruction, and a customerfocused approach to patient care are essential. Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to the highest standards of safety and professionalism are key components of success in this position. Hourly Pay Range:
$35.39 - $56.63 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
