In this role, you will utilize your expertise to perform comprehensive dental cleanings, assess patient oral health, and educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster a positive experience for every patient while supporting the overall efficiency of our practice. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) ensuring proper technique and patient comfort. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding and compliance. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the dental environment. Skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding relevant to dental procedures. Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics is a plus, with the ability to provide compassionate care to young patients. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on communication, empathy, and professionalism. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of infection control and aseptic technique. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures, infection control practices, and medical imaging techniques. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards for safeguarding patient information within a busy dental clinic environment.
