Full Job Description Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team in our newly established office in Fort Lauderdale, FL. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. You will work closely with the dentist to ensure optimal oral health for our patients. This is a part-time position for now (2-3 days), with the possibility for additional days and hours as the practice grows.

Duties:

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and oral assessments
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Conduct screenings for oral cancer and other dental diseases
• Assist the dentist during procedures as required
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Open Dental software
• Follow all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
• Sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed

Requirements:

• Valid Dental Hygiene license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of experience is preferred.
• Proficient in medical documentation, medical imaging, and medical records management
• Knowledge of dental office procedures and patient assessment techniques
• Familiarity with Open Dental or similar practice management software
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology
