In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, assist with patient assessments, and support the clinical team in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient dental environment. Your passion for helping others and your attention to detail will ensure every patient receives top-quality care in a friendly, professional setting. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and evaluating oral health status. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Manage medical imaging procedures such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols. Follow infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment for patients and staff. Skills Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry, including working with children in a compassionate manner. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport. Familiarity with infection control standards, sterilization techniques, and HIPAA compliance. Knowledge of medical coding and documentation review for billing accuracy. Excellent communication skills to explain treatment plans clearly and address patient concerns effectively.
