In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education. Your expertise will help ensure our patients maintain optimal oral health while providing a comfortable and positive experience. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging), applying sealants, and providing fluoride treatments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the clinical environment. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license with current state licensure. Proven experience working in general dentistry, dental office or clinic experience is preferred. Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Opendental or Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures. Skilled in patient care, patient assessment, chairside assisting, and medical coding related to dental procedures. Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental practice.
