Header Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring thorough removal of plaque and tartar. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop tailored care plans. Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) using advanced medical imaging equipment while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols. Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, supporting dentists during examinations and treatments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health habits. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards. Manage infection control procedures by adhering to aseptic techniques, sterilizing dental instruments, and ensuring a safe clinical environment for patients and staff. Header Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment, with familiarity in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document patient interactions. Hands-on experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and management of medical records. Demonstrated proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, x-ray procedures, and use of dental equipment. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic technique and infection prevention management practices. Ability to assess vital signs accurately and recognize signs that may require further medical evaluation or intervention. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages—especially pediatrics—and foster a patient-centered approach that emphasizes comfort and trust.
