Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging), applying sealants, and assisting during restorative or pediatric dentistry procedures. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) using Open dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to safeguard patient safety and prevent cross-contamination. Monitor and record vital signs, review documentation for accuracy, and assist in medical coding when necessary for billing purposes. Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing specialized care tailored to children's needs in a friendly manner. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials to practice legally. Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinic environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and infection control standards essential for accurate documentation and safe practice. Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental assisting techniques, and aseptic procedures to ensure high-quality patient care. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and foster a positive experience. Ability to perform detailed patient assessments including vital signs and medical history reviews confidently.
