Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies Assist with chairside procedures, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments such as sealants or fluoride applications Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Utilize dental software systems like Dentrix for documentation and appointment scheduling Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and clinic cleanliness Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings preferred Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards. Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during patient care Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient needs Familiarity with dental coding practices related to dental services is a must.
