Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to monitor patient health status Conduct medical imaging procedures like X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort Review and update medical records and dental charts accurately, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Maintain aseptic technique and infection control protocols to ensure a sterile environment at all times Document treatment details thoroughly using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing gentle, age-appropriate care for young patients Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care Experience Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is required, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential for accurate documentation and communication Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred Demonstrated proficiency in chairside assisting, including medical coding and documentation review skills Experience working with pediatric patients in a pediatric dentistry environment is a strong plus Understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures necessary for safe practice Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately and effectively Join us in creating healthier smiles!
