Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive services. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health outcomes while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. As a key member of our dental practice, you will utilize your skills in dental terminology, infection control, and medical records management to support high-quality general dentistry services. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of maintaining healthy habits. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical records diligently, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes. Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control standards and managing dental instruments with proper aseptic technique. Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after treatment to ensure safety throughout procedures. Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing specialized care tailored to children's needs in a friendly manner. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in dental office settings, including general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology. Experience with chairside assisting techniques, including taking radiographs and performing vital signs assessment. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
