Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where your expertise in oral health will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives! In this vital role, you will provide top-quality preventive dental care, educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and support the overall success of our dental practice. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status. Assist the dentist during procedures such as examinations, restorations, and other treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) ensuring proper technique and patient comfort. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice to maintain optimal oral health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license with current state registration. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting and documentation. Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding. Demonstrated ability in chairside assisting, patient care, and patient assessment within a general or pediatric dentistry setting. Familiarity with infection control standards, HIPAA compliance, and aseptic technique practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about their oral health needs. Previous experience working in dental office or clinic environments utilizing EMR systems is advantageous. $44.01 - $53.00 per hour
