Registered Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health. Assess patients' oral health status by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and conducting oral examinations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting patient assessments, treatments, and progress in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols adhering to HIPAA regulations, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental office settings with a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and chairside assisting with professionalism and compassion. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards, medical terminology, and medical records management. Strong communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
