The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care and committed to providing high-quality dental hygiene services. This role involves working closely with patients to promote oral health, perform preventive care, and assist in the overall management of dental practices. Responsibilities Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patients' oral health. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Take and record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient management and record keeping. Perform infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Assist with medical imaging procedures as needed, ensuring high-quality imaging results. Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies. Skills Strong patient care skills with a focus on comfort and education. In-depth knowledge of human anatomy related to oral health. Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding their implications for dental care. Familiarity with maintaining detailed medical records while adhering to HIPAA standards. Experience using Eaglesoft or Dentrix software for efficient practice management. Knowledge of infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment. Competence in medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry. Understanding of medical coding practices as they relate to dental procedures.
