The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for promoting oral health. This role involves working closely with patients to provide preventive dental care, perform assessments, and educate them on maintaining optimal oral hygiene. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our patients while adhering to the highest standards of clinical excellence. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and vital signs monitoring. Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures using appropriate techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient documentation and record management. Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for young patients. Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical setting. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during procedures. Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and accuracy in medical coding. Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental hygiene practices. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with MA state regulations. Experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems and familiarity with medical imaging techniques. Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of documentation review processes and medical terminology is beneficial.
