Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Perform thorough Scaling and Root Planing for periodontal patients Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and interpret dental imaging such as X-rays and intra-oral photos while co-diagnosing with the dentist. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term health habits. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team with documentation review and ensuring all procedures align with current dental terminology standards. Experience Demonstrated understanding of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes. Strong grasp of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with general dentistry procedures, patient care protocols, and medical records management is essential. Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist is required.
