In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing professional dental hygiene services in a friendly, welcoming environment. Your expertise will help promote oral health, educate patients on proper dental practices, and ensure smooth clinic operations. This position offers flexibility for those looking to balance work with other commitments while making a meaningful impact on patients' smiles and overall health. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates to monitor patient health. Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Conduct medical imaging procedures like X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards. Review patient medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Assist with chairside procedures, including preparing instruments, sterilizing equipment, and managing dental supplies. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for record keeping and documentation review. Prior experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical coding standards. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles for treating young patients compassionately.
