In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education while supporting the overall health and well-being of our patients. Your expertise in dental hygiene practices, combined with your compassionate approach, will help foster a positive environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' oral health while working in a dynamic, team-oriented setting. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging (X-rays) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Review documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of medical records. Monitor patient responses during treatment, including vital signs and overall health status, especially when working with pediatric dentistry cases. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental office environments, with familiarity using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience working with pediatric patients and knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding, and reviewing medical records for accuracy. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team.
