Our small team works closely with medical and dental volunteers to provide care rooted in compassion, respect, dignity, and quality. Hours:
7:45 a.m.•4:15 p.m Part Time (20 hours per week)
Essential Functions:
Administers prophylactic treatment, including scaling and polishing of teeth Documents existing restorations and identifies notable areas of possible decay or disease for dentist review; consults with dentist as appropriate Takes dental x-rays to determine the extent of decay and disease Administers fluoride treatments as needed Updates and reviews patient medical histories, highlighting significant findings for dentist review Provides patient education on oral hygiene techniques and answers patient questions Practices universal precautions and adheres to sterilization and infection control procedures Maintains dental equipment and clinical areas Performs related duties as required , including dental assisting when needed
Summary:
The Registered Dental Hygienist role is responsible for the direct provision of dental hygiene and appropriate preventative services to oral patients of the clinic, as well as providing appropriate oral health information to individuals and groups. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Dental Hygiene required.
License/Certifications:
Current applicable state(s) license in Dental Hygiene required. Current applicable state(s) Dental Radiographer license required or must receive within three months of hire.
Experience:
