Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and patient education while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Your dedication to infection control, accurate documentation, and compassionate care will help us maintain the highest standards in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and effective treatment planning. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining proper documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care tailored to pediatric dentistry needs. Monitor and document patient responses during procedures, ensuring accurate medical coding and record-keeping compliant with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, maintaining clinical areas, and managing dental supplies efficiently. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Proven experience in dental office environments with familiarity in general dentistry procedures; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and medical coding practices. Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Ability to work collaboratively within a team using chairside assisting skills to support the dentist during procedures. $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
