Job Description

Private dental practice in Portland focused on quality care and a steady, well-run day is seeking full time hygienist. We are looking for a reliable, patient-focused hygienist who works well with a team. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure safe and effective treatment. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records responsibly. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes. Skilled in infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and maintaining a sterile environment. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures and patient assessment protocols. Strong understanding of dental assisting practices, chairside assisting, and medical coding standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about their oral health needs. $50.00 - $54.00 per hour
