Job Summary Join our dental team as a Dental Hygienist and become a vital contributor to patient health and well-being! In this role, you will deliver exceptional preventive dental care, educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and support the overall function of our dental practice. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for, informed, and confident in their smile. com if you're interested in the position! Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) accurately while maintaining strict infection control standards. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate and complete patient files in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature before procedures. Maintain aseptic technique throughout all clinical procedures to prevent infection transmission. Manage dental office software (such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix) for scheduling, charting, billing, and documentation review. Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing specialized care tailored to children's needs in a friendly manner. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to uphold safety standards for patients and staff. Assist with medical coding and documentation review for insurance claims or medical records accuracy. Collaborate with team members in general dentistry procedures to provide seamless patient care from start to finish. Skills Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Curve, Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with pediatric dentistry techniques and working with children is a plus. Ability to accurately take vital signs and perform medical imaging procedures confidently. Deep understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols. Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to diverse patient needs. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation review and data entry. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Capable of performing patient assessment tasks including reviewing health histories and identifying potential concerns related to medical records or medical coding requirements. Strong communication skills for educating patients about oral health practices effectively
